Transformational Journey into Awe (4 days and 3 nights)

A Retreat with the potential to change your life through the Power of Awe.

We invite you to join us on this Transformational Journey into Awe, where the mountains will speak to you of adventure, humility, camaraderie, and personal transformation through difficult life transitions. Led by award-winning, bestselling science journalist Florence Williams (www.florencewilliams) (The Nature Fix) and renowned life coach and author Sara Schhculting Kranz (www.saraschultingkranz), this retreat goes deep into evidence-based nature immersion practice for renewal, fresh perspactives and the healing Power of Awe.

RESET RECHARGE REJUVENATE

Imagine the peace and quiet reflection seeping into your soul as gentle trails lead you to the meadows by High Camp surrounded by spruce forests and towering peaks of the San Juan Mountains. You have arrived at the wildly beautiful, off-grid log cabin that will be your home for three nights and four days. At High Camp, you will experience stillness, find connections with nature and others, see incredible beauty in the small and huge landscapes and learn from nature about hope and patience.

In this retreat, we will practice evidence-backed Forest-immersion exercises and explore the science of AWE  to usher in personal growth and meaning. We will receive reiki energy healing, pristine trails, enjoy fresh water mountain streams, and experience un-matched sunsets, colorful wildflowers, a wood-fired hot tub, and delicious food. We will feel body and soul come to life as we tune into AWE all around! There is time for relaxation, joy, serendipity and connection….

Sharing this wilderness-based retreat with a small group of women is powerful and healing. We will listen, share stories and discoveries, and learn to more easily access the transcendent feeling that we are part of something larger than ourselves.

There is no WiFi or cell service at High Camp but we promise you a better connection, to Nature!

You will walk away with the skills and insights to continue your own Journey into AWE.

This incredibly unique beautiful, off-the-grid lodge is surrounded by majestic peaks, flower- filled meadows and tall spruce tree forests. Surrounded on all sides by wild, undeveloped land, High Camp sits on 320 private high-mountain acres held in a permanent easement by The Nature Conservancy and surrounded by National Forest. The lodge offers single and double rooms, a wood-fired stove, solar lights, comfy couches and chairs to relax in, and a place to call your home away from home. .

Our chef, Chelsey Rajavuori, who owns the Fireweed Café in nearby Rico, CO will take care of all your dietary needs,  from Chia Pudding with fruit in the morning, to her homemade granola to salads in Bento Boxes, to a vegetable curry, or a rice bowl for dinner and healthy desserts. You will not go hungry! . Snacks, Nuun Hydration tablets are always available.

This Journey into Awe is for you if you feel overwhelmed, are struggling with major life transitions, or just need a powerful, nature-informed re-set in your life. It is amazing how nature just knows what you need. You will experience what Florence calls the ”Three-Day Effect” (see her podcast on this topic ( Florence Williams on the 3-Day Effect, scroll down a little.), leading to transformation, healing, hope, fresh perspective, and a re-wiring of our conscious and unconscious minds.

About Sara:

Sara Schulting Kranz (www.saraschultingkranz) is a proud mom of 3 wonderful young men, a retreat organizer, wilderness guide, keynote speaker, author, a mountain and ocean adventurer, and a teacher. Sara made a point everyday of getting outside, navigating through anger, pain, and grief while hiking 14,000 ft mountains and paddling 4 miles out to sea with whales and dolphins. She somatically healed her heart, mind and body through nature while practicing the art of resiliency and forgiveness. “The gift of trauma was finding my most important relationship: the one within myself. “ Her trauma became her purpose to help others embrace their resiliency. Through her own fool-proof and simple techniques, she teaches actionable steps to become more resilient, and to use resiliency as the foundation for living authentically.

Cindy Farny the owner of High Camp and The Executive Director of Friends of High Camp… I am passionate about this magical place and it is my privilege to share this wildly beautiful location with you and as many people as possible. I have spent way too many hours inside in front of a computer, or making sourdough bread for over 16 different restaurants in Telluride, or helping my parents run Skyline Guest Ranch. High Camp has saved me, spending time in nature has saved me. I know firsthand how important it is to slow down, listen, and share something that means a lot to me. It is my dream to keep this place open to these kinds of retreats long after I have moved on from this earth. Please join me on this retreat and you will know why nature is so important in our lives and places like this need protecting. “Everyone needs a little High Camp in their life.” Thank you for signing up.
