We are delighted to announce that Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer will be leading an unforgettable retreat at High Camp Hut! Imagine stepping away from the demands of daily life and immersing yourself in poetry and nature in one of the most breathtaking and secluded settings in the San Juan Mountains. With only 12 participants, this intimate retreat offers the time and space to reflect, create, and connect—both with nature and a supportive community of kindred spirits.

Led by accomplished poet and teacher Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer, this intimate gathering invites participants to explore how words can transform emotions, deepen awareness, and capture the essence of the wild. Through poetry readings, guided writing sessions, and thoughtful instruction, participants will discover new ways to express themselves while surrounded by alpine beauty. Beyond the written word, the retreat offers invigorating hikes, restorative soaks in the hot tub, evenings by the campfire, and chef-prepared meals—all fostering creativity, connection, and renewal. ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer, a celebrated poet, teacher, and facilitator is known for her warmth, insight and ability to guide others toward honest, and powerful writing. Her poetry has been featured on A Prairie Home Companion, PBS News Hour, O Magazine, American Life in Poetry, and Carnegie Hall’s stage. In 2024, she became Evermore’s first poet laureate helping others navigate life’s beauty and grief through poetry. Rosemerry is compassionate, patient and loves to share her talents with others. Cindy has dreamed of having her friend Rosemerry hold a retreat at High Camp, and we are thrilled to have that dream come to fruition this summer.
