DISCOVER THE UNIQUE QUALITIES OF SOUTH WESTERN COLORADO’S HIGH ALPINE WILDFLOWERS THROUGH THE SCIENCE OF IDENTIFICATION AND THE MAGIC OF CREATIVITY.

Imagine yourself in a meadow bursting with purple, pink, and yellow wildflowers, framed by the towering peaks of the San Juan Mountains. The wildflowers are in full bloom, the air is crisp and clear, and you’ve found connection with like-minded women who share your sense of adventure. As peace and stillness settle into your soul, you listen to your instructors’ inspiring stories about the resilience of alpine blooms—and realize that nature’s rhythm holds lessons worth embracing in your own life.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THIS RETREAT:

You will stay in the comfort of High Camp Hut, a stunning off-grid log cabin that will be your home, and your art studio for the next three days.  You will explore your surroundings, learn about nature and spend time painting the beauty that you experience.

Your instructors Karin and Amy will lead you in a variety of activities - hiking the forests and meadows around the Hut, identifying and learning about the more that 100 varieties of wildflowers, painting the beauty of the plants you encounter. No experience necessary—whether you’re a seasoned artist or picking up a brush for the first time, this retreat welcomes all skill levels. With guidance and inspiration from nature, you’ll discover the joy of watercolor painting in a supportive and enriching environment.

There will also be plenty of time for relaxing, journaling, reading and getting to know the group. Evenings will be filled with soaking in the wood fired hot tub, star gazing, laughing and sharing stories around the outdoor fire pit. You will enjoy healthy and delicious snacks, beverages and meals prepared by our wonderful chef Brittany. Your only responsibility will be to make the most of your time at High Camp and enjoy the beauty your environment.

With no WiFi or cell service, High Camp offers a deeper, more meaningful connection—to yourself, to others, and to the natural world. Surrounded by 320 private acres protected by The Nature Conservancy and bordering National Forest, the lodge provides cozy accommodations with solar lighting, a wood-fired stove, and inviting spaces to relax and reflect.
